MINISTRIES

Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of this church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Church members are involved in a variety of ministries from visiting and sunday school at nursing homes. Volunteering and carry food to the local food pantry. Partnering to help the local middle school with many activities.

Ministry Outreach

Balfour Baptist is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom. We are active in having events to bring people into the church. We do a Easter egg hunt at Easter every year and Trunk or Treat in October.  We have Heaven’s Gates and Hell’s flames drama coming in May. Various artist come and sing and have concerts. through out the year. People are working with other groups to feed the community. We have had the NC Baptist wellness Bus to the church to meet medical needs in the community. Come join us and help us to show Jesus love to the world!

Music

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music ministry. Some play their instruments and play in the handbell group. Some are vocalists. Others are involved in the choir. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of this church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. All of our weekly services are live streamed and past services are  uploaded to our website in video.  We also maintain an active Facebook feed for additional church communication. Our services are broadcast on WKXR 1260 AM radio, The third, fourth and fifth Sundays in the month. We also have a Android and Iphone app in development.

Counseling

Marriages and life can be difficult to maintain. Misunderstanding, confusion, resentment, and anger can flare up in any marriage. The Pastor and several couples at our church serve other families as marriage counselors. Their role in listening, understanding, helping, and encouraging struggling couples has, by God’s grace, saved marriages, and repaired relationships. Couples have found fresh hope and new joy in a warm and fulfilling relationship with their spouse. This also extends to helping people with addictions and issues that need more treatment and help getting to the right place.

Love One Another

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Our Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty.  Praying for one another is the start of showing God’s love to the world. We show love by discipleship groups for adults and Awanas for children. We have groups for Sunday School, Senior adults, Adults, Youth and Children to study God’s word and grow in Jesus.
